Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag

Postby Kahless » Sun Nov 24, 2013 5:19 pm

Anyone play this game yet? I just started it i'm maybe 30 to 45 min into it. Came with my 780Ti. Its my first Assassins Creed game. Its kinda open world but with clear objectives and path to follow. Which I kinda prefer clear objectives that your supposed to follow. Combat in the game is a bit frustrating. Don't know if that is unique to this game or the same through the series. Graphics are pretty awesome. Though some textures seem a bit low-res and character models like their faces suck. They look old school. The outdoor environments look fantastic. The indoor environments look dated. Runs pretty good on my 780ti 1440p all settings maxed at about 60fps. I started with a mild 25mhz overclock on the memory and core on my graphics card to help maintain 60fps.

Update: my frame rate is excellent but I get alot of stuttering and freezing. It will freeze for about 3 or 4 seconds before moving on about every 3 or 4 minutes. Very annoying. Also the controls are very frustrating. I can't get my character to stop running up walls or attaching their self to every hand hold in the game. I can't run away from anyone in the game without going up a wall and attaching to it. I have to hit the button like 12 times to get them to dislodge their self from whatever they are attached to. I probably will dump this game and start something else.

My graphics card also came with Spllinter Cell Blacklist. It also has stuttering and freezing. Though a quick google reveals it is common. I just installed the update for it so i'll see if that fixed it.

This was my initiation in the Assasins family. This is really fun!!! The main character is quite attatching. Many parallel with Far Cry 3 gameplay (Tower vision and treasures), with better graphics and a very nice story (until now). Havana Looks beautiful and operating and boarding ships really feels like home to me. There's nothing like stalking and killing a few guards to Arrrgggg!

I went in With every graphic options maxed out plus the 2x MSAA and obtain a very clean and stable 45fps with a 7970. Gameplay was smooth and stable during the entire session. Nice improvement from Ubisoft, I'm impressed!

Mine stutters to bad that it is practically unplayable its to annoying. It didn't start doing it until I get to the town and i'm trying to storm that castle building. I've got all the graphics maxed out, 4x msaa, 1440p and i'm still getting 50 to 60 fps but still stuttering. I guess it just needs a patch or better drive for nvidia cards.

Did you install the latest driver? I've found this on Nvidia's website:
