Which cooler for lga 2011?

Postby Constantine_K » Sat Apr 27, 2013 12:33 am

Hello guys im on the way to order my parts and i stack only in cooler.I will buy it from retailer so the prices is better for me in specific components.I have 2 options :
1. Corsair H60 2013 edition
2. Thermalright Archon SB-E X2

I will overclock only if i run out of power that seems impossible to me for my work and if i will i dont think that i will go further than turbo mode so 3.8Ghz max!So overclock is not parameter to consider. Both cooler is compatible with the corsair vengeance kit.The corsair is easier to me to buy it because is from the same retailer with the other components but if u tell me that Archon is much better then i will choose Archon!Waiting your opinions guys!
Thanx!

My system specs (DAW Build):
case: Fractal Design Define R4
psu: Corsair HX650
mobo: Asus P9X79
cpu: 3930K
cooler: Corsair H60 2013 edition or Thermalright Archon SB-E X2?
gpu: MSI GT 630 2GB
ram: Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz Cl9 16GB 2x(2x4) kit
ssd: Samsung 840 250GB
hdd: 2xWD Caviar Black 1TB

Most reviews state that the Corsair is ahead of that Thermalright, but both would do the job.

Welcome aboard!

The Corsair is a little better. Since you´re not overclocking, either will do just fine.

However, make sure there is no issues with mounting it in your case, as it is a watercooler. Should be fine.
This has been an objective and completely impartial message from the propaganda bureau of DIREWOLF75. Thank you for reading. Have a nice day.

What made you decide for the Thermalright?

First of all im afraid a little bit watercooling and i prefer air.Second i have read good reviews about archon sb-e x2 and third it is compatible with all ram modules something that i had to consider causei choose the corsair vengeance. And in the end i dont think so that i will overclock it a lot i think i will use turbomode only if only i run out of cpu power something that i think will be impossible for me.

I can understand the water cooling thing, prefer air myself as well.
