Can I move my win8 upgrade license to a new computer?

I have purchased an upgrade license for win8 pro, I will soon buy a new computer wich will most likely come with windows8 home premium, will I be able to reuse my upgrade license (if I remove it from the prior computer) on this new computer to upgrade its SKU?
I forgot to mention I have a retail copy of windows 7 ultimate.

Nice suggestion, but have you ever TRIED phoning Microsoft? Its almost as bad as calling HP, especially if you are from Canada. I'd imagine its even worse from Mexico. Prepare to be batted around like a ping pong ball through their phone system/operators/agents/rodents. I have a sticky note here with 3 different tech support numbers, with the final one labeled super secret help that actually works.

I'd suggest that by first using your win 7 key, then the upgrade, it may work but I wouldn't count on it. I understand the upgrade is only good for one PC, and I suspect it validates against the MS server and ties it to that hardware.

I believe that Fuzz is right here, only allows one "upgrade" installation and that is tied to that particular computer's hw "fingerprint" so to speak... but you can always "phone home" to M$ if that is the case...and beg for an activation with a sympathetic M$ call center agent/drone...

Just as the theoretical possibility exists that they both answer and then bother to help.

MS support is the worst you can find. Only way to actually get real support is to pay for it. At rates lawyers would be ashamed of using.

I have actually gotten real support from them twice, but it was about the least desirable thing I can remember, and I once had a summer job scraping gum off the bottom of school desks. I'm pretty sure I'd rather deal with the gum.
