Questions thread

Ask your deep thoughtful questions here, and get inane or accurate answers by expert Xbit-ers!

Ok, so my question is; Why does Spock say "Logically"?

Obviously as a logical person everything he says must be logical. So wouldn't it be logical to NOT say logical? I think he is acting illogically. :D
It's not the penguins I hate, so much as the idea of penguins.

I though Spock always says: "Logic dictates..".

Here are some of Mr. Spock's best quotes...

It is curious how often you humans manage to obtain that which you do not want.
--Spock in 'Errand of Mercy'

I am endeavoring, ma'am, to construct a mnemonic circuit using stone knives and bearskins.
--Spock in 'City on the Edge of Forever'

I have never understood the female capacity to avoid a direct answer to any question.
--Spock in 'This Side of Paradise'

I am what I am, Leila, and if there are self-made purgatories, then we all have to live in them. Mine can be no worse than someone else's.
--Spock in 'This Side of Paradise'

The creature within me is gone. I am free of it, and the pain. I am also quite blind. An equitable trade, Doctor. Thank you.
--Spock in 'The Immunity Syndrome'

Logic is little tweeting bird chirping in meadow. Logic is wreath of pretty flowers that smell bad.
--Spock in 'I, Mudd'

Your illogical approach to chess does have its advantages on occasion, Captain.
--Spock in 'Charlie X'

After a time, you may find that having is not so pleasing a thing, after all, as wanting. It is not logical, but it is often true.
--Spock in 'Amok Time'

Computers make excellent and efficient servants, but I have no wish to serve under them. Captain, a starship also runs on loyalty to one man. And nothing can replace it or him.
--Spock in 'The Ultimate Computer'

Judging by the pollution content of the atmosphere, I believe we have arrived at the late twentieth century.
--Spock in 'The Voyage Home'

What does it mean, 'exact change'?
--Spock in 'The Voyage Home'

They like you very much, but they are not the hell your whales.
--Spock in 'The Voyage Home'

Nowhere am I so desperately needed as among a shipload of illogical humans.
--Spock in 'I, Mudd'

On my planet "to rest" is to rest, to cease using energy. To me it is quite illogical to run up and down on green grass using energy instead of saving it.
--Spock in 'Shore Leave'

Fascinating is a word I use for the unexpected. In this case, I should think "interesting" would suffice.
--Spock in 'The Squire of Gothos'

If I were human, I believe my response would be: 'go to hell'. If I were human.
--Spock in 'The Final Frontier'

Are you sure it isn't time for a "colourful metaphor"?
--Spock in 'The Voyage Home'

And what we REALLY have to worry about is, of course, the penguins!
It's not the penguins I hate, so much as the idea of penguins.

There are NO evil penguins under your bed. Or anyone elses bed either.

Those are just hallucinations and dreams.

The penguins are your friends! Yes even the one under your bed with all the knifes.
This has been an objective and completely impartial message from the propaganda bureau of DIREWOLF75. Thank you for reading. Have a nice day.
