Graphics look stunning!! New and improved weapons , great smoke/fire/water/explosion effects as expected. Some of you might be sick of Crysis in general, but you have to admit they keep upping the graphics in every version! 8) :D

It uses the same basic game engine as Crysis 2 , which of course is "CryEngine 3" , but tweaked a bit of course over time:

http://digitalbattle.com/crysis-3-system-requirements/

Crysis 3 system requirements for PC hardware will be similar if not the same as Crysis 2, because both games are powered by the CryEngine 3 game engine. Crysis 3 system requirements will still be quite demanding though, as this has been the case with Crysis games since the very beginning. Here are the full PC specs require of the game:

Crysis 3 system requirements (minimum)

CPU: 2.8 GHz dual core processor, Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Phenom X2 or better
RAM: 2GB
Graphics: DirectX 10 graphics card with 1 GB RAM, Nvidia 400-series or AMD Radeon 5000-series.
Operating system: Windows Vista
DirectX 9c sound card
16 GB free hard drive space

Crysis 3 system requirements (recommended)

CPU: 2.4 GHz quad core processor, Intel Core i5 or better
RAM: 2GB (4 GB for 64-bit operating systems)
Graphics: DirectX 11 compatible video card with 1GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 500-series or AMD 6000-series or better.
Operating system: Windows 7, Win 7 64-bit is preferred
DirectX 9c sound card, dedicated audio card is preferred
16 GB free hard drive space

Since my GTX 560 Ti card could handle Crysis 2 nicely, I should be fine using that for Crysis 3 :D

Demo received very good response at E3:

Crytek’s slick upcoming shooter, Crysis 3, is in line for the prestigious title of Best Action Game in the E3 Game Critic Awards after being added to a shortlist of five titles that wowed the gaming press at E3 2012. The nomination is one of 27 that the groundbreaking game has received based on its E3 showing, with five awards already having being clinched. Those wins include: Game Informer Best of Show; Electric Playground Best of E3; PC Gamer Most Valuable Game; Now Gamer Best Graphics and Tweaktown Best Game of E3.

So even though Halo 4 won the award for "Best Action Game" , and "The Last of Us" won "Best Action/Adventure Game", Crysis 3 was at least in the top 5 and nominated!

I also have high hopes for Far Cry 3 which will be out Nov.29 in Canada and Europe, and Dec. 4 in USA , here is an E3 demo video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-gi9-aqp4g

I think Far Cry 3 will be a lot of fun due to the warlords and "ruthless, deranged inhabitants" of the island ... not to mention the "bomb-carrying monkeys!!" I look forward to all these games actually!!

While "The Last of Us" looks like a great game, it is only for the PS3, which I don't own, so pass on that one...argh... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Last_of_Us

Fuzz - you might think about upgrading your Wii to the new Wii U - it won the award for best new hw/peripheral!! ( since new Xbox and PS4 won't be out for a long time of course ). Still the Wii U should cost between $249 and $299 ( price is not officially announced yet ) according the poll here: http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-574 ... ii-u-cost/

Nintendo says the price will be "reasonable" :

Nintendo promises 'reasonable' Wii U price
June 26, 2012 6:45AM PDT

By Eddie Makuch, News Editor

Company CEO Satoru Iwata says firm "won't make the same mistake" as 3DS with upcoming home console.
The Wii U will be on store shelves in about six months, and one of the largest questions surrounding its launch remains unanswered: How much will the system cost? In an interview with Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun (translated by Andriasang ), Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata did not reveal a firm price for the console, due worldwide this holiday season, but said it will be sold at a "reasonable" rate.

"We won't make the same mistake that we did with the 3DS, which was considered relatively high by consumers," he said.

The 3DS launched last March at $250, but after a sluggish start, Nintendo cut the portable's price down to $170. Regarding the future of the handheld, Iwata said, "We've fixed the 3DS profitability issue, and pledge to turn profitable by the end of this fiscal year."

Though Nintendo has kept the Wii U's official price tag under wraps, reports about its cost have come to light. In April, sources reportedly involved with manufacturing and distributing Nintendo products said the Wii U would cost no less than $300 at launch.

Earlier this month, Wedbush Securities industry analyst Michael Pachter said the Wii U must sell for under $300 at launch, noting an optimal price for the system would be $250. The industry diviner expressed uncertainty regarding the system, saying it lacks a "killer app" to help drive initial hardware sales.

So, somewhere between $250 and $300 then...

WiiU may bring Nintendo black numbers again. They are in the red now.

Still using CryEngine2 , same game engine they used for Crysis 2... so the system requirements are about the same as for that game ( I listed them in previous post in this thread ), although the more gpu hp the better of course!! :D

Crysis 2 System Requirements:

http://www.game-debate.com/games/index. ... Crysis%202

Crysis 2 Optimum System Requirements

CPU: Intel Core i5 3.1Ghz, AMD Phenom II X6 1055T or better
GPU: NVidia GTX 560 Ti, ATI 6850 or Dual graphics cards
RAM: 4GB
DX: 11
Shader: 4.0
OS: Windows 7
Frame Rate Target: 30fps@1920x1200

Identical to the Crysis 3 recommended system requirements I posted earlier in this thread...
