it's the l33t speech, not bad. I am starting to get a bit annoyed with it too. I have found many people now screw up on:
"there" and "they are"/"we're"
"then" and "than"
"were" and "we are"/"we're"
... and this isn't limited to just typical poster. this is done even by journalists, including financial ones posting news on Associated Press and such.
